Data Insights & Media Relations Manager

Our rapidly growing business is looking for an exceptional marketer to build, lead and execute a data insights and media relations strategy. This role is a critical component of the company’s 2017 strategic initiatives, offering high impact, high visibility, and direct access to the executive team.
We’re looking for an analytical marketer to create compelling, external-facing stories from our untapped and expansive data asset that resonate with prospective customers and media outlets. The successful candidate will:
Push the boundaries of our data asset to develop a strategy of generating compelling reports and other external-facing storytelling through data
Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Data Science teams to brainstorm compelling report ideas that incorporate takeaways from our data asset
Construct reports and other assets presenting actionable takeaways for prospective customers and which generate interest with trade publications
Build relationships and pitch relevant media outlets with report takeaways to fuel more placement of Salsify in the news
Be highly proficient in Excel pivot tables, and ideally have experience with or a desire to learn SQL
The ideal candidate will have:
High proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables
Basic knowledge of, or a demonstrated ability to learn, querying databases through SQL
Demonstrated ability to tell stories with data
Background in PR, communications or media relations
Ability to drive and manage initiatives cross-functionally across departments
