At Demiurge, we loooove data. Like, really, really LOVE it. Delicious, delicious data... mmmm. Data informs our decision making, allowing us to move with conviction as we chart a path forward through the unknown. Data Analysts at Demiurge work closely with senior members of the development team, helping to collect, organize, and present data to make sure the entire team is well-informed.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?

You might get a random question from a game designer like,

“How many players earn rare characters in an average week? How does that change based on how long they’ve been playing?”

Your response might be to create a line graph showing the Total, Unique and Average earn rate, split by how long they’ve been playing, and their engagement level. Being able to create these charts, and highlight trends well is the crux of your role.

If using data to test assumptions and drive decision making is exciting to you, we’d love to chat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Game Designers to answer questions
  • Identify areas that require more data and prescribe ways to improve the data stream
  • Canary in the coal mine: Monitor game performance and speak up if there’s a problem

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Excel-fu! Can you build Pivot tables in your sleep? Or teach us something new about Excel?
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and statistics
  • Ability to communicate data
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Local to eastern Massachusetts

Bonus Points For

  • SQL, JavaScript, R, Python, Mixpanel or Tableau experience
