Chewy is looking for an Art Director with a strong background in digital design to join our Creative Team based in Boston, MA. You’re a self-starting go-getter that can think on your feet and work creatively within a fast-paced, collaborative, ever-changing environment. The Chewy Creative Team designs all things Chewy including branding, digital, mobile, print, packaging and more and we are looking for candidates with diversity and range within their design skillset to help take our visual design to the next level.

 What you'll do:

• Lead complex digital and print design initiatives with minimal supervision
• Deliver stellar, pixel-perfect designs that exhibit your creative abilities, mastery of design fundamentals for digital and traditional deliverables and passion for going above and beyond to exceed expectations
• Lead, manage and execute various projects including promotional campaigns, landing pages, email, banners, print collateral, packaging and more
• Take a leadership role on the team, mentoring junior designers to excel in creating concepts, layouts and final art
• Work cross-functionally and within the team to participate in all stages of the design process, communicate timelines and status, ensure the appropriate concepts, themes and messages are represented and present to key stakeholders
• Bring value to brainstorming and idea generating sessions through your contributions
• Proactively identify areas for improvement in existing design assets, share ideas with key stakeholders and implement across design initiatives
• Actively participate in photo shoots to ensure visuals obtained meet needs of final creative deliverables 

What you'll need:

• Strong portfolio showcasing real world work and your design process
• 6+ years of design experience, creative agency experience preferred
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment balancing tight deadlines with great design while managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent storytelling skills to present and communicate your work
• A keen eye for typography and layout hierarchy to develop fresh and innovative designs; illustration skills a plus
• Excellent work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
• Strong attention to detail including completing all designs according to specs
• Exceptional project management skills including prioritization of work flow and time management
• Master of design tools: Sketch, Adobe CC, pen and paper, whiteboard and dry-erase markers
