Every week, we dig through our events calendar and hand-select events worth checking out. We’re particularly looking forward to these ones.

Boston TechJam, June 15 at 12 p.m.

Eat, drink and rock out with more than 7,000 of your community peers at Boston TechJam at City Hall Plaza. This one-of-a-kind block party and innovation festival is basically a massive toast to the region's success. Attendees will see cool tech innovations, enjoy fun games and friendly competitions, listen to local music from Spiritual Rez, enjoy local drink from Jack's Abby and eat from local food trucks. You don’t wanna miss this.

Hosted by tech accelerator Canopy City co-founders, this event is for Canopy members and non-members alike. Pat Rodgers of Agency 451 will talk about how startups can build integrated marketing solutions for their brands. Pizza and beer will be served!

MITX Data Summit: Unlocking the Value of Your Data!, June 14 at 8:30 a.m.

Hosted by Boston Mobile App Developers, this summit will cover why 360-degree video and virtual reality are two of the hottest topics in entertainment right now. To give attendees a tech overview, this event will feature a free, three-hour, hands-on workshop that will teach everyone from filmmakers to developers more about VR. When you walk out of the workshop, the organizers promise you’ll understand the elements and the workflow needed to create a virtual world yourself.

Making the Web Easy To Use by People with Intellectual Disabilities, June 14 at 5:30 p.m.

Hosted by A11YBOS, this session will cover how to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) use the web and how companies can simplify web text using artificial intelligence.

Boston Amazon Web Services Meetup, June 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Boston Amazon Web Services is hosting a meetup group at Constant Contact’s Waltham headquarters. Meet others interested in all aspects of Amazon Web Services (AWS), and discuss topics like development, standards, networks, marketing, promotion and business opportunities using AWS. The group is more technical, so they look for relevant topics, and stay away from sales presentations.
